1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Slate (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Slate is an AI-powered presentation generation application. The Service allows users to:

• Generate presentation slides from text topics, documents, or uploads.
• Export presentations in PDF, PPTX, and other formats.
• Store and manage generated presentation content.

3. User Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete account information.
• You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
• Use the Service to create presentations promoting hate speech, violence, or discrimination.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service without authorization.
• Upload documents containing malware, viruses, or malicious code.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

• You retain all rights to the content you upload and the presentations you generate.
• You grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Our IP

• The Service, including its code, design, branding, and proprietary algorithms, is owned by Slate.
• Template designs and UI components are protected by copyright and trade dress laws.

AI-Generated Content

• AI-generated slides are created based on user input. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of all generated content.
• We make no warranty regarding the originality, accuracy, or ownership of AI-generated content.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

• The Service may offer free and paid subscription tiers.
• Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and processed by the platform app store (Apple App Store / Google Play Store).
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Refunds are handled per the applicable app store policy.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

• We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, biases, or errors. You are responsible for reviewing all output.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of document extraction or content interpretation.

9. Termination

• You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.
• We may terminate or suspend access immediately, without prior notice, for violation of these Terms.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted within the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
